The Great Plains and Prairies

The chapter prior to this one was the agricultural core. In this section we are discussing the Great Plains and their agricultural impact. Although, Atlanta is not part of this region, we must not forget every region is unique in climate, goods produced, topography, etc. The Great Plains may be an agricultural wonder dominated by heavy machinery and large scale operations but, a major disadvantage is the severe climate changes and natural hazards that occur in the region.
For example, this region is known for its tornadoes (most important), thunderstorms and even in some cases hail. Summers tend to be extremely hot and winters turn out to be very cold. Like I already mentioned, it is common for some states to receive hail.

Tornadoes are of serious concern when it relates to weather. States like Kansas often experience many and sometimes experience blizzards.

In comparison to Atlanta, the weather is not severe like the Great Plains. Maybe the only comparison we can draw are the hot summers.
